Michael F. Jeffrey LMFT
Michael Jeffrey has over fifteen years of clinical experience, as well as thirty years working within the criminal justice system. Mr. Jeffrey began his career as a Probation and Parole officer here in Richmond, Virginia in 1969, before becoming a Drug/Alcohol specialist within the parole system. From 1978 until 1999, he served as a probation counselor for the Virginia Probation and Parole District #1, and since 1999 he has been a full time therapist with the Institute and also holds the position of Certified Death Sentence Mitigation Specialist for the Virginia Court System and the United States District Court for eastern Virginia.
Mr. Jeffrey specializes in Individual, Marital and Family Therapy here at the Institute and also conducts sentencing mitigation consultation for individuals pending criminal adjudication, individualized mental health and substance abuse assessments and treatment plans, as well as case management for severe special needs clients (schizophrenia, borderline, bipolar).
Michael Jeffrey is a Licensed Professional Counselor, as well as a Licensed Marriage and Family therapist. He was awarded the Probation and Parole Office of the Year Award in 1993 and is currently President of the Richmond Association of Clinical Counselors.
